Mitch felt an immediate bond with this late 19th-century mirror, which began to crumble the moment it was touched. Under the guidance of architect and restoration expert Silvio Vianelli, the frame was consolidated and nourished with specific oils to halt the erosion of time.
However, in the final stages, the structure gave way once more at the four corners. This "tear" transformed the technical solution into the artwork itself: the belt wrapping the frame is no longer just an aesthetic choice, but its structural heart. Should it loosen, the mirror would lose its stability and shatter again. By artistic choice, any further breakage would not be restored, but accepted as a new metamorphosis.

To care is not merely a creative act; it is a revolutionary gesture. It means interrupting the flow of indifference with attention and love - for objects, for others, and for oneself. It is a fragile beauty that finds strength in the small supports necessary to hold us together.
