We all recognize ourselves in Pinocchio, the puppet whose growing nose marked every lie before his ultimate transformation into a boy. His story is the perfect metaphor for our dual nature - where physical matter and spirit merge into a single, complex existence.
In this esoteric journey, we are guided by talking Crickets and Fairies who mirror our flaws, yet we are often led astray by the "Foxes and Cats" of our unconscious. Some of us eventually reveal our true selves, while others remain blind to reality, drifting aimlessly through life’s deceptions.
What is our salvation? Awareness. It is the only catalyst for true self-confidence. Collodi’s masterpiece is a profound path to awakening, rich with hidden symbols that trace the human evolution from a mechanical puppet to a conscious being with a full identity. DON’T LIE was selected for “Once Upon a Time”, a project by Rosanna Accordino for the first CURART catalog, featuring twenty artists reimagining the world of fairy tales. All proceeds from the sale were donated to the TOG Foundation, a center of excellence for the rehabilitation of children with complex neurological diseases.
